Grandson Parker - 6th Grade School Picture

Andrew Parker Pfefferkorn celebrated his 12th birthday on November 21, 2009.

He is now in the 6th grade, and here is his latest school picture.

We received this picture when my son, Jamie, his lovely wife, Shelia, and their two children, Parker and his big brother, Tanner visited us over the Thanksgiving holiday from their home in Clemmons, NC.

Me and My Dad

My dad was born Robert Gillimer Pfefferkorn on 5 May 1902 in Chicago, IL . This is a very regal looking early portrait picture of him.

I took the more laid back approach as seen here at age 4 months old.

I was born James Winans Pfefferkorn on 11 Jun 1945 in Winston-Salem, NC.

Our December Delight -- The Newest Pfefferkorn

Welcome to the world, Audrey Cecilia Falk, born 2 Dec 2008 at 8:03 PM, tipping the scales at a svelte 6 lbs, 20 oz and measuring 21 inches long!

Here are proud parents Ian and Sarah Falk with their newborn babe who seems to be voicing her opinion about something -- perhaps, "Where's the milk, please..."

Now, here's some genealogy -- Great Grandma Tommye, Granny Jean, Momma Sarah, and baby Audrey! What a happy, warm family moment...

Pfefferkorns at Christmas 2008

My slightly-older-but-ever-so-much-smarter sister, Dianne (OK, so there's not that many shopping days left before my birthday) over the past couple of Christmases has started the great tradition of having a Christmas Eve family get-together at her home in Winston-Salem NC. Since my wife Elaine and I are always up from where we live in Columbia to visit our daughter Kim and her family in Greensboro NC and son Jamie and his family in Lewisburg just outside of Winston-Salem, there's always a couple of generations of Pfefferkorns at this gathering.

Last Christmas, we had a ton of family there, and this picture was taken especially to capture the Pfefferkorn bloodline in attendance.
  • My sister Dianne and I are wearing red;
  • My son Jamie, and Dianne's son Andrew have on white; and
  • Jamie's son, Parker, always "dresses up" for special occasions.
Dianne's son, Andrew Hobbs is an exceptionally bright young man who is pursuing a college degree at Appalachian State in Boone NC. At age 2o, his talents and energy can take him wherever he wants to go -- and his future is a bright one, for sure.

My son, Jamie, has something in common with my sister Dianne -- they are both graduates of Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem -- Jamie at the undergraduate level and Dianne earned a Masters there.

Parker and Andrew also have something in common, besides the Pfefferkorn bloodline -- they both have the name "Andrew" in their name. Parker's full name is " Andrew Parker Pfefferkorn." Parker's 11 (going-on-21) years old, doing well in school and excelling in every sport he plays. Also, like Andrew, the sky's the limit for this fine young lad.

Otto W. G. Pfefferkorn

These three pictures capture the life of our famous grandfather Otto.

Here is the dapper Otto in the later years of his life.

Here is Dr. Otto W.G. Pfefferkorn where at Brenau College in Gainesville GA he founded the Conservatory of Music and served as its Dean for 37 years until his death in 1939

And lastly, here is Otto in regal splendor during his days as a famous concert pianist who performed all over the world.

The Pfefferkorn Boys

Here are a couple of old snapshots of Otto's Pfefferkorn boys.
  • Top left, taken in March 1923 shows Robert and Lawrence in college days at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta GA.
  • Top right is Stanley in a 1926 photo.
  • Bottom are left-to-right, Robert, Lawrence and Stanley in a 4 Aug 1956 photo taken in front of our house at 525 Jersey Avenue in Winston-Salem NC.

The Children of Otto and Josephine Pfefferkorn

This picture was taken in August 1909. My dad Robert was the oldest, born 5 May 1902, then son Lawrence born in 1904 followed 2 years later by daughter Delphine, and a year after that, the youngest in this family, Stanley.
